Common questions

Windshield replacement,
answered.

Chip repair or full replacement: how do you decide?

It mostly comes down to size and location. Small chips away from your line of sight can usually be repaired in under an hour. Cracks, chips in the driver's sightline, or damage near the edge of the glass usually need a full replacement. We'll tell you honestly which one your vehicle actually needs.

OEM glass or aftermarket: what's the difference?

OEM glass is made by the same manufacturer as your original windshield; aftermarket is a compatible equivalent from a different maker. We'll talk through what's available and appropriate for your vehicle before we order anything.

How long does it take, and when can I drive after?

Timing depends on the vehicle, and the adhesive needs time to cure before it's safe to drive. We'll give you the exact timing for your vehicle for the adhesive used on your vehicle before you leave.

Do I need ADAS calibration after a replacement?

If your vehicle has driver-assist features like lane keep or automatic braking, the cameras and sensors mounted near the windshield need to be recalibrated so they read the road correctly. We calibrate in house rather than sending it out.

Will my insurance cover this?

Often, yes. Bring us the vehicle and tell us who covers you; we bill most major carriers directly and handle the claim.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Both, depending on the job. We offer mobile service and can travel up to about an hour out, depending on the location and job. Ones that need ADAS calibration are usually better handled in the shop. We'll let you know which applies when you call.
